Pi Xi Omega Chapter Heart Health Month Programs Aim to Combat “Silent Killer,” Encourage Women to Exercise and Improve Their Diets

In an ongoing effort to help women, especially African-American women, learn best practices for a healthy heart including exercising and improving their diets, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Pi Xi Omega Chapter, will host three virtual events in February, the month designated as Heart Health Months nationwide. Click here to read the full article. 

Pi Xi Omega’s Heart Health Month program will feature the following virtual events: 

Friday, 2/4, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Heart Health Presentation, “Do Your Part, Care for Your Heart,” led by noted cardiologist Anjanette Ferris Senatus 


Saturday, 2/19, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Fun packed hour of a Zumba class entitled “Fit & Fine!” facilitated by Certified Instructor Rose Wallace. 

 

Wednesday, 2/23, 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Tips on nutrition and wellness featuring a “Feed Your Heart presentation by Registered Dietician, Heather-Ann Younker.
